Santa Clause and music fun~

Bree got to sit on Santa's lap for the first time this past weekend.

However, after a few seconds she'd had enough...maybe she was just mad that she couldn't tell him what she wanted!

But we know that she likes Christmas music! We had a Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert on the computer and she LOVED it! She sat there in front of it "leading" the music with her arms like she saw the conductor do, dancing and even singing...it was so cute!
Robbie and I just laughed!

Thanksgiving fun in Ohio!

This Thanksgiving was a little bit different than past Thanksgivings because we spent it in Ohio! Robbie had a job interview with the Cleveland Clinic so we decided to make a vacation out of it!

Bree wasn't too happy about having to get up at 5:45 AM to start the eight hour drive!
While dad was interviewing Bree and I got bundled up and walked around downtown Cleveland. By the end Bree was plumb tuckered out!
But we spent the next day in Kirtland visiting church history sights!
And the best part of the trip was that my cousin Kristin, Bill and Will, who live in Illinois, met us there! And it was so fun because Elder Losee (who is on the left giving us our tour) is a good family friend! We were happy to see him and his sweet wife!

We found a fun little restaurant called Mapleside Farms for a Thanksgiving meal. It was great! We hardly had room for dessert!

Bree was more interested in banging silverware on the table than eating!

They gave Bree this cute little Pilgrim hat :) Happy Thanksgiving!!

Summer fun~

We had a blast this summer in Utah with our families! We went to Hawaii (see Robbie's comments in September's "Year in Review"), took a trip to Portland (see September's "Portland Trip"), but here are some other fun things we did:

We had a family reunion with the Bestors...

...at Lake Powell!! We LOVE Lake Powell!
Being at the lake didn't stop Bree from taking her baths! But she loved the lake water!

And don't worry...we're drinking Sparkling Cider to break in the new house boat!

We also had fun up at Grandma and Grandpa Harmon's this summer.

Bree was excited to meet her cousin Eden! (Well, practically her cousin!) Thanks to Aunt Jannie and Hillary for the cute outfits!

We had a fun Pioneer Day in the pool at the Hendersons!

Bree was laughing like crazy in the pool-it was so cute!

Robbie and Sarah showed off their lifts! Quite entertaining! :)

What a fun time!

~October in North Carolina~

Fall is beautiful here in the East! All the leaves are changing and the weather is so pleasant.

In October we took a trip to the mountains and saw some beautiful waterfalls.

Then Aunt Sarah came to visit! We all LOVED having her here for almost a whole week!! And Bree discovered how to pull things off of tables...like our decorative pomegranates. Now we know that the paint comes off when they get wet!

And as always, we had fun at home...Bree sure loves when dad tickles her!

Year in Review...

What a year it's been! Things started off with a bang when on January 22nd Jesika and I headed to the University of North Carolina hospital.
Next thing we knew...what once was two, now was three. Our little family became slightly bigger. We welcomed our little angel Bree Elizabeth into the world early the next morning.

She has been an absolute joy and light in our home every day since...even during those first few weeks of sleepless nights.

Well...they say time fies when you're having fun. Nobody ever told us it would go as fast as it has. In the short eight months since Bree arrived, our lives have been full of adventure. We spent a few days in the nation's capital, where we learned that sometimes you have to be creative to find places to feed your baby...Jesika made due with a park bench on the mall and on the bathroom floor of the national gallery of art amongst other places.

We spent another month and a half in North Carolina while I finished my first year of graduate school. Jesika worked on her many projects...and got her "hot-mama" figure back. Bree...well, she loved to do this.

Early in May, we packed up and headed to St. George. We spent the summer there with family while I worked with Intermountain Healthcare. Bree loved being with family...and they loved being with her!

Summer time was a blast! We started off by taking a quick trip to the island of Kauai. It was Bree's first time seeing the ocean, swimming, walking in sand, etc... She loved it. It also gave me and Jesika a chance to work on our tan-lines. Jesika didn't need much help. As you can see from these pictures...she's a total babe!

We would pick matching flowers on our way to breakfast for Mom and Bree to wear. Fun trip! Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!

After getting home, we had a party at the Ranch to share pictures and memories! Bree showed off her hula!

Trip to Portland!!

We love Portland!! In July we visted the Portland area with the Groesbeck family, Todd, Rose and Emily, and had such a fun time. We stayed at the home of Jackie Briles (a woman in one of the wards Robbie served in while a missionary in Portland), and ate, slept and played like kings! We enjoyed down town and the Farmer's Market, Cannon beach, the Portland Temple, the Rose Gardens, and just hanging out while dad checked out work opportunities. This is definitely a potential place we could live!

Robbie and Bree had fun chasing the birds...while Rose and I just laughed!

Bree loved playing with Emily! And we were so grateful for Jackie and her hospitality!

I especially loved seeing the places Robbie served in as a missionary. I could see the fire in his eyes as he would talk about different people as we would pass certain areas. What a fun trip!
